Welcome

I'm so excited! First we came together and started the book club and now we have this blog!!! Ok ok so I'm a little too excited, but can you blame me? I have the honor to be in the company of some beautiful, progressive, diverse ladies and we'll be discussing our ideas and opinions on various books. As Stacey mentioned I initially wanted to this book club to concentrate on books by Caribbean authors, Caribbean American authors and books by other authors regarding Caribbean life etc. Mainly because of my desires to explore authors from the region whose books are hard to find especially those that I've read back in school at Mt. Alvernia. Books including Escape to Last Man Peak, Sprat Morrison, The Year In San Fernando, A House for Mr. Biswas, Banana Bottom and The Jumbie Bird, just to name a few. While we will explore Caribbean authors/books, we will also explore other literary greats of the African diaspora. So join us as we get 'knowleged', 'literatured', uplifted, inspired, driven, let's be all we can be cause those slaves worked hard for us not to take advantage and be trailblazers.
